Dog Ultrasound scans
We have the latest state of the art equipment to carry out pet ultrasounds in Preston and the surrounding areas. We can either carry out the ultrasound scan in our canine fertility clinic or in the comfort of your own home. Our qualified clinicians are highly trained to carry out the scans which give an internal picture of your pet’s health and well-being.
Why have an Ultrasound?
The scans are often carried out to check for pregnancy (whelping), however it also provides a general health overview. In addition to checking for pregnancy, ultrasound scans can check for pyometra. This is a life-threatening infection which develops in the womb and requires prompt treatment. Furthermore, much like human ultrasounds, we can monitor the foetus’s progression during pregnancy. Which means we can see puppy heartbeats, movements and give an estimate on litter count and due date.
